NEW YORK<\/span>, Oct. 18, 2019<\/span> \/PRNewswire<\/a>\/ — Milan Records<\/span>, an imprint of Sony Music Masterworks, today releases LOOKING FOR ALASKA<\/span> (MUSIC FROM THE HULU SERIES)<\/strong> – available everywhere now<\/a>.  The album includes music from Hulu’s newest original limited series, produced by Josh Schwartz<\/span> (The O.C., Gossip Girl<\/em>) and based on John Green’s<\/span> bestselling novel.  Set in 2005, the series features music specific to the early 2000s era, carefully curated by Schwartz and music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas<\/span> (The O.C., The Twilight Series<\/em>) as a sonic companion to the show’s coming-of-age narrative. <\/p>\n

\"Looking<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The nostalgia-inducing repertoire includes much-loved tracks from Bloc Party<\/strong>, The Strokes<\/strong>, José González<\/strong>, Rilo Kiley<\/span><\/strong>, Clap<\/strong> Your<\/strong> Hands<\/strong> Say<\/strong> Yeah<\/strong> and Modest<\/strong> Mouse<\/strong>, as well as newly recorded covers of the era’s biggest hits by contemporary, up-and-coming artists Bailen<\/strong>, BEGINNERS<\/strong>, Fleurie<\/strong>, Kat<\/strong> Cunning<\/strong>, Mating<\/strong> Ritual, Miya Folick<\/span><\/strong> and Young<\/strong> Summer<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Streaming exclusively on Hulu now, Looking for Alaska<\/span><\/em> is an 8-episode limited series based on the John Green<\/span> novel of the same name.  It centers around teenager Miles “Pudge” Halter (Charlie Plummer<\/span>), as he enrolls in boarding school to try to gain a deeper perspective on life.  He falls in love with Alaska Young (Kristine Froseth<\/span>) and finds a group of loyal friends.  But after an unexpected tragedy, Miles and his close friends attempt to make sense of what they’ve been through.<\/p>\n

The series stars Charlie Plummer<\/span>, Kristine Froseth<\/span>, Denny Love<\/span>, Jay Lee<\/span>, Landry Bender<\/span>, Sofia Vassilieva<\/span>, Uriah Shelton<\/span>, and Jordan Connor<\/span>.  Ron Cephas Jones<\/span> (This Is Us<\/em>) and Timothy Simons<\/span> (Veep<\/em>) also star.<\/p>\n

Created for television by Josh Schwartz<\/span>, the series comes from Paramount Television and Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s<\/span> Fake Empire.  Savage and Schwartz will serve as executive producers.  Alongside Jessica Tuchinsky, Mark Waters<\/span>, John Green<\/span>, and Marty Bowen<\/span> and Isaac Klausner<\/span> of Temple Hill.  Fake Empire exec Lis Rowinski will co-executive produce. Sarah Adina Smith<\/span> (Hanna<\/em>, Legion<\/em>) directs the first episode.<\/p>\n
