The companies will co-create a\nnew daily satirical podcast focused on current events called \u201cThe Topical,\u201d\nwhich is set to launch in January 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This partnership will bring to comedy fans a whole new\nway to experience The Onion\u2019s distinctive voice and insightful commentary on a\ndaily basis across a wide variety of platforms. The Onion will oversee all\ncreative aspects of the podcast, including writing, production and recording. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the announcement, Jordan LaFlure, Executive\nEditor at The Onion said, \u201cThe Onion&nbsp;is thrilled to have found a stalwart\nally in Sony Music Entertainment to help it dominate yet another medium in the\nworld of journalism.
