New Frontline Creative Center will Include Blackbear, Lil Durk and Rod Wave<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW YORK, NY\u2014June 22, 2021\u2014<\/strong>Sony Music Entertainment (SME) today announced it has acquired a majority stake in Alamo Records, the New York-based multi-genrelabel founded by music industry entrepreneur Todd Moscowitz focused on the discovery and development of next-generation talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the agreement,Alamo, including its existing roster and catalog, will become a new frontline creative center within SME. The Company will continue to sign, develop and market its own roster of artists under the leadership of Moscowitz as CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In making the announcement, Rob Stringer, Chairman, Sony Music Group said, \u201cWe are very excited to bring Todd and his label, Alamo, to our company. He has always been a visionary in an area of music that is now front and center of pop culture globally so we are delighted to add his experience and expertise to our creative strategy. We welcome him, his artists and his team to Sony Music and will provide all the partnership he needs to take the label to even greater heights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its founding in 2016, Alamo has quickly earned industry-wide recognition as a home to some of today’s most exciting new artists. The label has already brought numerous up-and-coming artists to the forefront, including Blackbear, Lil Durk and Rod Wave, who are helping to redefine the pop and hip hop genres for fans around the world. Lil Durk and Rod Wave have each scored their first #1 albums on the Billboard 200 this year with \u201cThe Voice of the Heroes\u201d and \u201cSoulFly,\u201d respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A renowned music executive, successful artist manager and proven hitmaker, Moscowitz over his career has worked with artists including Common, Young Thug, Fetty Wap and Gucci Mane. Before founding Alamo, Moscowitz co-founded the independent record label 300 Entertainment and has previously served as CEO of Warner Bros. Records, President of Asylum Records, and held multiple leadership roles for Def Jam Recordings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
